Swedish Body Massage
Body massage has been practiced for many thousands of years, evolving from both Eastern and Western traditions.
The massage techniques were further developed in the 17th and 18th century by a Swedish physiotherapist who created a scientific system of therapeutic massage known as Swedish Body Massage.
The massage techniques used today all stem from the Swedish system. The manual and systematic techniques used to manipulate the soft tissues of the body promote health and well-being by:
- helping to increase joint mobility
- relieve muscular tightness and stiffness
- increase flexibility
- improve blood circulation
- remove toxins from the body
- aid relaxation
- reduce stress.
